Close Encounters of the Right Kind: Sascha Illyvich

Sascha Illyvich kicked off a blog tour on behalf of his romance, Stuck!, at Nikki's Close Encounters of the Right Kind blog on Wednesday. The pair discussed what is a strong connection between music and writing for many authors.

NIKKI: Today I have the sexy Sascha over here kicking off his tour!!  So sit back, relax and let's talk music.  I'm always curios as to an author's taste in music and if it helps write he book.  Surprisingly, a number of writers have a soundtrack to their book.  Here is Sascha's:

SASCHA: Anyone who knows me knows I write to the heaviest, hardest, hottest in metal and aggrotek.  If the music isn't passionate, I can't write to it.  The folks who arranged this tour asked me to start off with a playlist for one of my stories and since I had one queued up for an upcoming release entitled "Finding Eternity" out soon from Sizzler Editions, I figured I'd go with that, and the why.

 1.      Seven Lives by In Strict Confidence – This was actually the song that inspired the story.  My hero is hunting, searching, trying to fulfill his destiny.  Little does he know, his mate has been hunting too and knows the chorus to the song because she's his.
2.      Closing Eyes by In Strict Confidence – I just love this song and it fits in musically
3.      Emergency by yup, you guessed it, ISC – From Katherine's POV, she's in pain because Solan won't recognize the love they share.  It's an emergency of the heart.
4.      Cloudkicker's entire album BEACONS – Damn thing is just solid.
5.      I want your blood by Combichrist – Dark, BDSM, controlling
6.      Destroy Everything You Touch by Ladytron – Not really dark enough for the story BUT for the characters it worked.
7.      Clouds over California by Devildriver – Solan figures it out
8.      Momentum by VNV Nation – I used this to set up the last BDSM Scene between human and vampire
9.      He had been Old in the Beginning but He was saved  by Miroist – Long song title eh?  Yeah, thing is, this Djent song has ambience and for me, that heavy djent sound lets me stay in the story longer.
10.  Schopenhauer's Fallacy – Miroist – same as above, only a quicker tempo let me feel the urgency of what Solan needed to do for Katherine before she died.

There you have it.  Lots of emotion, lot of heavy.  Lot of power, that's how I write as a male romance author.  Let's take a look at the book details:

Kandy is a young, free spirit. Not afraid to live life, she pushes her body and soul to the limit, hitting all the loud metal concerts, knocking back drinks with the best of them, and coming home hung over to Ian Richards, the man who has taken her under his wing since she came to live with him after her parents died years ago.

Of course, Ian has a past too. He and his ex-wife parted on friendly enough terms, but he still feels guilty for their breakup. It seems to him that his sexy little roommate, who happens to be nine years younger than him, was a part of their problem. Only, his concern for her seemed fatherly until she comes home one night after a Slipknot concert and decides to seduce him. After all, she's old enough.

For someone her age, she's wise beyond her years, which even Ian can give her, but still. Can Kandy show Ian that in order to grow, he has to get his priorities straight? Can he get out of his head and let go of the past long enough to see just what he has under his nose? Or will he cling to memories of the past failures and remain stuck?

Upcoming Writer Workshop with Editor/author Sascha Illyvich - BDSM in Romance

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: This workshop is for authors particularly in the romance genre who dabble BDSM in any form, be it writing spanking stories, light bondage, or like myself, heavier darker things.  Many folks think that once a book is written the author’s job is done.  Not so.  As any seasoned author knows, once we finish writing, we have edits, cover art choices, more edits, and of course the hype.  Marketing, promotions.  PR Hell as it is known in some circles.  That’s the toughest part of any author’s job IMO and will make or break any author dumb enough to rely solely on the publisher.  Our job as authors is a business and needs to be treated like such, even if we DO get to have a little more fun than any corporate schmo.  So, in order of author responsibilities:
1. Establish the Brand (I’m Sascha Illyvich, paranormal erotica/BDSM romance author)
 2. Maintain the Brand (Primarily through PR, I write about wolves, fae, vampires, but you’ll never see me write a western!)
3. Grow the Brand (I write paranormal romances, which puts me in with the anime crowd who likes dark fantasy!)
This workshop will focus on Number 3:  Grow the Brand.  What authors often fail to realize is that in including different elements like spanking or light bondage that they are writing for their normal audiences but with a little more effort could target not just the fringe readers; those who are closeted about their darker desires, but those who are a little open with their darker desires.

As the Acknowledged Bad Boy of Romance, I have been writing and published in this genre for the last twelve years, worked two large BDSM events in Houston with HPEP, been actively involved on mailing list discussions, read a few books, met and spent time with Jay Wiseman (Author of SM 101: A Realistic Introduction)   I occasionally write for, a BBW BDSM site.  I've been on numerous BDSM panels am an active Lifestyle Dominant and have been vetted.  Oh, and as I mentioned before, my Mom is a Lifestyle Domme – meaning when she realized that she enjoyed kinky sex, she sought out knowledge and became who she is today, teaching her son proper play.  My previous workshop, Writing from the Male POV and creating better heroes was a success both at Coffee Time Romance and at Collette Thomas’s Erotic Workshop yahoo group.  I have taught this workshop for HHRW RWA chapter and Savvy Authors.

Excerpt From Full Moon Rising: Tales Of The Werewolf Clan By Sabrina Luna

Here's a very special treat: a pair of excepts from Sabrina Luna's brilliant new book, Full Moon Rising: Tales Of The Werewolf Clan - out now from Renaissance E Books/Sizzler Editions!

A ferociously hot werewolf romance like no other - packed with sex ... and fur and teeth! Romance can be complicated - but thrilling - when you are a member of a lyanthrope clan. Full Moon Rising is the first installment of an enthralling new series that chronicles turning points in the lives and loves of two of the McShaw's of Heather Grove. Megan McShaw falls for another lycanthrope, Derek Lee. Soon the two are hiding in a cabin in the woods from a rogue werewolf who is out to get Derek after a bar fight reveals he is a lycanthrope but not from the local pack. Meanwhile, woman reporter, Jac Hamilton, comes to Heather Grove to investigate a 'werewolf' story. She meets Ray McShaw and can sense the energy between them. She doesn't dream he is a werewolf, and as the local pack leader is responsible for concealing the truth from her. But Ray winds up trying to protect Jac when a female pack member goes rogue and attacks her. Ray realizes that he has feelings for her - and that even though Jac is human she is also his mate.

From Full Moon Rising

Within the warm cab, Ray switched off the radio and glanced to the diner door. Any minute Jac would be heading out to the truck. He drew a breath, attempting to calm his nerves.

He’d felt foolish reaching out and taking her hand. But the heat of their touch and the silkiness of her hand in his had struck a chord deep within him. A chord that resonated through his entire being. He wanted her…bad. The moon fever was escalating, too. The heightened lunar energy would only complicate things. And, also, it was only one night away from full zenith. “I’ll just have to keep my distance,” he vowed.

Jac would never understand. Not only was she a stranger, but she was also human.

Ray cringed. Usually the sithech and full-blooded humans didn’t mix. “It’d be like oil and vinegar,” he muttered under his breath. “It just won’t work. I got a bad feeling about this.” He sighed.

She also wrote for a magazine. That could spell trouble for him in a different way. Ray’s wolf sensibilities were on alert. Damn. I’d better watch what I say around her. He couldn’t win for losing.

With a loud squeak, the passenger door swung open. Jac climbed up into the truck cab. Just looking at her made his resistance weaken. She looked like an angel in blue jeans. The heady scent of vanilla and musk filled his senses as she grinned over at him. Her lips were simply luscious beneath her dark sparkling eyes.

“I’m ready.” She gently placed her bag into the floor board and rubbed her hands together. “Let’s go.”

“Where’s your coat?” he frowned. She was only dressed in an oversized sweater and jeans. “You’re bound to catch a cold running around like that.”

Jac shrugged. “I was too preoccupied this morning. I forgot.”

“That’s no excuse.” He shook his head and reached behind the seat. Finding his wool-lined, denim jacket, he offered it to her with a smile. “Here. The temperature’s going to dip and you’ll be a bit warmer.”

She took the jacket and slid it on. “Well, it’s way too big,” she observed, pushing the sleeves up. “But it’s warm. Thanks.”

“Don’t mention it.” He nodded.

“Are you always this nice to strangers?” She angled her head, gazing over at him perplexed.

“I’m always nice to strangers,” he replied softly. “As long as they’re not too strange.”

Jac gave an amused chuckle.

Leaning in a bit closer, Ray let her essence fill his senses. He wanted to kiss her…right then, right there. Jac didn’t back away. She smiled up at him. She was studying him with an intense gaze, then darted her tongue over her lips. The gesture was so tempting, so inviting. His cock thickened automatically in response.

Before he could blink, Jac placed a tender kiss on his cheek. Ray’s breath caught in his throat.

A horn blasted outside the cab, shattering the magical moment. As if the kiss had never happened, Jac turned her attention back to her seat belt. His heart sank a notch. Sharply, he glanced out the windshield and silently cursed the thoughtless driver, then cleared his throat.

“Well, we’d better be getting you to the garage.” He straightened in the seat, snapping his seatbelt into place. Putting the truck into gear, he pulled out of the diner parking lot.

Silence lingered between them as the truck headed down the road. Despite the briefness of the kiss, his cheek tingled from the warmth of her lips. It was a sensation that spread from his cheek straight to his groin. Attempting to banish the wayward thoughts from his mind, Ray switched on the radio.

“Me and Bobby McGee” filled the confines of the cab. Out of the corner of his eye, he looked over at Jac, who was quietly swaying to the music in the passenger seat. Ray exhaled a soft sigh and hoped the bluesy wailing of Janis Joplin would bring him back to his senses. The last thing in the world he wanted was to fall head-over-heels for her. She was not a sithech, she was human. And he would end up with a broken heart.

Jac didn’t know what had come over her. One second she’d been gazing into Ray’s indigo-blue eyes, the next second she’d kiss his cheek. It must be pheromones, she rationalized. She’d read recently online about the effect of male pheromones on the female species. It was nothing more than a simple, natural reaction. That has to be it.

Ray’s scent permeated the borrowed jacket. Heady musk and warm spice. The scent was making her libido go wild. No wonder she’d impulsively kissed his cheek. If it hadn’t been for the interruption, there was no telling what else might have happened. She winced at the thought. Business before pleasure, she reprimanded herself. However, the wayward kiss brought a smile to her lips.

Jac’s stomach tightened again as the garage appeared over the dashboard. It was going to be one of those days.

Excerpt of "A Bad Moon Rising"
From Full Moon Rising

A rustle in the bushes near the car caught Derek’s attention. He stilled, holding his breath. His heart lurched into his throat as he made out a pair of eyes staring at him from the darkened hedge.

The creature leapt out from its hiding place. A large, reddish-hued wolf with green eyes. It was Megan in her sithech form. Derek had never seen another of his kind until now. His heart softened, deep-seated emotions bubbling inside him. Joy and happiness mingled with awe and a dash of fear. “Megan, is that you?” he asked softly, holding his still, uncertain stance. “I was worried about you.”

The wolf let out a low whimper, slowly padding toward him on four paws. Within a few feet of him, she stopped and sniffed the air. Derek knew she sensed his fear. “I’m sorry, honey. I’ve never seen you like uh, this before.” He managed a thin smile. “But you’re beautiful. Really, really beautiful.”

He didn’t know how much of what he said she’d comprehend. In his own experience, he recalled that sometimes he felt human inside, other times not.

“Remember what I said earlier, Derek. Within us, there is a delicate balance between our human side and our sithech.” Derek heard her voice in his head as if she were speaking directly to him. The wolf blinked her big, green eyes, then slowly nodded. “Of course I can understand you.”

“Oh, good!” Derek exhaled a sigh of relief. “For a moment there, I thought I was the lunatic.”

Megan trotted over to the porch and laid a paw on a pile of clothing…her clothing, folded neatly on a wooden plank. She glanced back at him, a glimmer of moonlight in her eyes. “Wait here a moment,” she conveyed, then disappeared around the side of the house. Within a few minutes, a bare arm appeared around the edge of the cabin.

“My clothes, please?” she asked with a wave of her hand. “Sorry I took off like that, but I was feeling a bit edgy. I desperately needed a run in the woods.”

Derek grinned, scooping up the pile and handed them to her. “It’s okay. I understand. I just can’t get over seeing you like that, Meg. You’re a beautiful creature.”

“Gee, thanks!” Megan, now in her human form, rounded the corner, returning his grin. “Maybe I should pose for the cover of National Geographic, huh?” She winked.

He reached out, encircling his arm around her waist and drew her to him. “You’re a beautiful sithech and woman, too.”

In the glow of the moonlight, he saw her cheeks darken with color. She looked so lovely, so tempting—even if she had twigs stuck in her hair.

“Derek, you shouldn’t say such things.” There was a quiver in her voice as she attempted to pull from his grasp.

“Now, hold on, Meg,” he coaxed. “What’s wrong with me finding you attractive?”

“It’s just the moon having its effect on you. You’re not thinking clearly,” she protested.

“Well, I must confess, Ms. McShaw, I found you attractive even before the moon was near full. Does that make you feel any better?” Derek chuckled and leaned closer, catching a whiff of her dark musky scent.

Megan gazed up at him, speechless. He brought a hand up and tenderly brushed away a smug of dirt on her warm cheek with the pad of his thumb. A shiver went through his body like a ghost passing through a wall.

She drew a ragged breath. “Derek, now is not—”

Before she could finish her protest, he kissed her. Her lips were like warm honey, sweet and yielding against his hungry mouth. A low moan escaped from deep in her throat, but she didn’t pull away. Instead, she leaned in closer, her arms wrapping around his shoulders, drawing their bodies together.

Every muscle in his body tightened, burning with an inner fire. His cock, buried in the crotch of the borrowed sweatpants, also responded, humming to life.

Involuntarily, his hips pushed forward, rubbing against her, seeking out her heat between the layers of clothing. His tongue darted over the warm seam of her lips, parting them gently and capturing her in a fuller, deeper kiss.

The sounds of the forest around them melted away. All of his senses were focused on Megan—sweet, delicious Megan. Sliding a hand beneath the hem of her shirt, he glided a hand over her hot, sweaty skin. Gliding upward, his hands grazed the cups of her bra, feeling the firm imprints of her nipples against the satiny material.

Oh, sweet Jesus! He loved the way she was responding to his touch, confirming that she wanted him as much as he wanted her. His heart thundered in his chest, his hips pressing against her body.

He peeled his lips from hers, planting soft kisses down her neck. The warm, musky scent was spurring him on, making him desperate, hungry and—

“No!” Megan’s voice broke the spell. “No, Derek, we can’t!” She pulled away from his grasp.

Dazed with desire, he blinked, confused. But he held his stance under the heavy gravity of her stare.

“Megan, don’t do this,” he softly pled. “I want you. Honestly, I do.”

“Now’s not the right time,” she protested. “Let’s wait until after the Samhain moon passes, then we’ll see if whatever we’re feeling is the real deal.”

“B-but, Meg, I’m real horny!” he stammered in frustration.

“I can tell.” She flashed him a smirk, her gaze dropping to the tented crotch of his sweatpants.

Derek felt his face warm with embarrassment as she turned, heading back to the cabin.

“I suggest you take another shower…a cold one,” she called over her shoulder.

Out Now: Bondage Becomes Her By David Jewell

David Jewell is one of our all-time favorite authors of BDSM erotica and with this, his new book, you'll see why we - and other fans of hotter-than-hot kinky fiction like him so much: Bondage Becomes Her By David Jewell

After seven years of marriage, Darren Johanson was bored and frustrated.  He felt stifled in a routine, vanilla relationship while the dominant nature that he had discovered in his business life was nagging at him to make some changes.  While working out at the local health club, Darren came to know an exciting female with some novel ideas.  “Mistress” Lynn befriended him and introduced him into a realm of intense sexuality that he was anxious to embrace.  He proved himself an eager and adept student, who was a natural dominant.  He demonstrated an excellent ability to be creative in terms of satisfying the many facets of his dominant needs.  Together, they planned to turn his fantasies into reality. Darren’s wife, Judith, saw nothing wrong with their married life.  She was completely unaware of her husband’s emerging dominate persona.  She was very straight-laced and believed that anything kinky was just not right.  She had no idea of the changes that were about take place in her life.

Madison West Interviewed By BDSM Reviews - With A Free Book Give-Away!

Congratulations to our star BDSM author, Madison West, for a fantastic interview with the great folks at BDSM Reviews. Check it out - and be sure and enter the contest to receive a free copy of her new book, The Pirate In Red Pants!

When you first started writing, did you have any idea you’d be writing BDSM/kinky books? Do you write in any other genre?

I never really thought about writing erotica when I first started writing (I was young and na├»ve). It kind of came about when I picked up several badly written erotica books that gave no thrill and I said, I can do better than this and from the popularity of my books, I have. While I am focused on writing Science Fiction and Fantasy, I always have an erotica project going at the same time. Erotica is many times a playground for the mind and I like having something to keep my mind exercised. Maybe one of these days I’ll be tempted to combine my genres and do a Fantasy or Science Fiction erotica piece.

Do you use a pen name? If yes (or no), why?

I do use a pen name because I like to keep my kinky side hidden from those who don’t know what is really hiding under my prim and proper exterior. Only a few people get the privilege of knowing the REAL me.

Do you write BDSM/kink erotica based on what you find interesting or sexy, or do you write more for your audience?

What I write in erotica has to appeal to me or the story won’t be good. A good story, besides needing a plot, needs to activate as many senses as possible and in erotica there’s the extra sense of sensuality.

What have you written in the past that you think your BDSM/kink fans might find interesting?

My first two novels, Bonded and Branded, really go together but I think I like my most recent the best, The Pirate with Red Pants.

Do you do any “hands-on” research when you’re writing BDSM/kinky themed erotica?

I’m never quite sure if the ‘hands on research’ comes before or after my erotica writing sessions. One almost always leads to the other, but some things are better played out in the mind than in real life.

At this point in your career, do you think you’ll write more BDSM/kinky erotica?

At this point in my career, I will definitely continue to write erotica. It is fun to write and fun to read and fun to… well you know.

Who is your favorite BDSM/kinky author? Movie?

It’s hard to say which movie I like best. I have two- The Pink Lagoon (lots of sexy bodies, good plot and some really fun moments) and Personals: College Girl Seeking… or almost anything with Renee Rae.

What is your favorite flavor ice cream? And since this interview is for BDSM Book Reviews, vanilla is not an option!

My favorite flavor of ice cream has to be peanut butter with chocolate and of course lots of whipped cream and caramel sauce with a cherry on the top.

High on life ... high on drugs ... high on sex ... high on rock and roll! Jaymo Mahoney knew only one law – do whatever it takes to get high. Vietnam was behind him. Before him lay the new America – a psychedelic universe of wild adventures, close escapes, endless spliffs, marathons of lovemaking, nights of laughing so hard his guts hurt in the morning, and the omnipresent, ecstatic music that supplied the driving beat of the time. Kick-starting his motorcycle, Jaymo Mahoney was ready... It was going to be the Summer of Love all the time! But to survive, he would need a little help from his friends! A sensitive, insightful literary work that captures the 1960s from the inside. Unapologetic. Celebratory.

Advance raves for the exceedingly hot and entertaing Getting High: A Novel of the 1960s.

Wonderful Times Square Queer Review

Here's a glowing review of Times Square Queer by Roy Chaudoir!

His main characters inhabit Times Square in such a true representation of how things were in those days of sexual explosion, sexual rebellion, sexual freedom that the reader is immersed in a density of symbols that all point to sexual contact, often furtive, often forbidden and endangering, and sometimes impersonal and sometimes fake-impersonal, for some of these realistic characters do fall deeply into emotional relationships with their "tricks" or "johns" or "partners" or "punks." The atmosphere that builds in this book is mesmerizing and is like a song or poem to the street-life, to the street kids, and those who "feed" on them. Some feed closer to the bottom than others, but all in  all the mix is a sub-culture which emerged and thrived for a couple decades and then was snuffed out by "progress." The Deuce was cleaned up and made commercially glamorous, but back "in the day" there was a Times Square that was where you went for sexual gratification, and for homosexual contact, it was a primary cruise-ground for not only locals, but for people who came to enter the anonymous sex hunt from all corners of the world. Often, runaways, or vagabond-like youth, traveled from the West Coast to New York just to "work" the streets of NYC, and many have written about it, but none with a camera-like focus and clarity as Mick Mykola Dementiuk does...

I am well aware that people like a book with a good HEA (happily ever after) ending. Especially when writing in the romantic genre of books. However, I would like a chance to say this: There is reason in my madness! (and “unhappy” endings)

I know it doesn’t look that way at the time, but remember I am in this to hook you and make you read more of my books. Yes, this sounds devious and it is. I’m sorry, but this is the way business people work.

With that said! Let me continue. <grin> Ahem. So I went to a conference once and I heard that readers like it when the guy in the novel doesn’t end up going from hard ass to wussy in three hundred pages. And oh how I agree!

That is the reason why I can’t give you the HEA with every story I tell. But I can guarantee that in some book, some series, somewhere out there (beneath that big blue sky), there is going to be a story I write where that character gets to have their HEA. If they are lucky and pester me enough. Which 9 out of 10 times they will.

Readers got a little upset with me over Werewolf Descent because of a certain person not getting with another. But like I promised it wasn’t over between them and they just had to wait a year to read Witch Devotions. I want you to keep reading and one way to do that is to throw a curve ball.

On top of that, my characters have a strong say in how and what I write. If they do something that you hate there is probably a reason for it. Just remember that like normal every day people we don’t always think with that outsiders perspective. Sometimes you aren’t going to like them and darn it that is really ok! You should hate characters sometimes. If I am not making you feel more than one emotion I am not doing my job right! Darn it all! I am just so overly passionate about this at the moment.

So when you read my stories, such as From Demons, With Lust, just remember that I am writing the ending for a reason and that readers like you have made some demands I intend to meet. <wink>

Why mix erotic BDSM with the paranormal?

No one has directly asked me why I have a tendency to mix paranormal with my erotic BDSM tales, but if Iwas a reader I’d be curious so I’m guessing there are people out there who want to ask but haven’t. This blog post is for you. :)

There are many different reasons to write romantic influenced, erotic tales with a BDSM backbone and a flair for the paranormal. Is that enough use of adjectival words to describe what I write? Oh, I forgot LGBT friendly as well. I like to be all inclusive. In case you are wondering, I have a huge smile on my face right now, and I’m trying to figure out if there are any other adjectives I could throw in, but I think I’ll stop for now.

All I can speak to is what inspires me, of course, and the one driving theme behind all I do is power- power games, power play, gaining power, losing power, wanting power. Clearly, power is something that fascinates me. Perhaps it is because the only power I had as a child was to make my parents angry, maybe it is because growing up everyone ignored me, or it is fathomable that power simply fascinates me because it is the one currency all groups, people, times, and governments have whether in positive or negative amounts.

Power is what drives nations to war, whether direct power over bodies or power over minds. We are a power hungry animal at heart. Some of us want to dominate while others want to submit, but mathematically it is a matter of adding or subtracting power, taking or giving, demanding and receiving or forfeiting and giving.

Still, we have hang ups about talking of power when it meets up with sex and naked bodies. It can help to create distance by using non-human characters to show the brunt capability and sheer audacity of power. This is why paranormal creatures like vampires, werewolves, werehyenas, etc intrigue me. It is a way of discussing the heart of power without stepping on psychological toes and still luring a reader into a very hot and sexual story that hopefully will leave them panting.

Pushing Boundaries by Amber Rose Thompson is an erotic ride you don't want to miss!

Out Now: The Craftsman By Jason Walker

Jason Walker is a true master of BDSM erotica - one of the best there is - and this new book, The Craftsman, will deliver what the BDSM fan really wants.

A friend, taking a little pity on him introduced Ronald to Melinda, a special woman who the friend believed might be able to help Ronald with his relationship issues. Melinda was submissive by nature. It was a perfect match to Ronald’s dominant attitude. Unfamiliar with the lifestyle Ronald gains an education from Melinda, and they discover that working together can bring benefits in so many ways. A rousing tale of dominance and submission by the author of the best-selling THEIR TOY - if you like your BDSM erotica hotter-than-hot than THE CRAFTSMAN is the book for you!

Out Now: Private Pleasures By Kirsten Imani Kasai

There is simply no one better at writing exciting - yet thought-provoking - erotica than the celebrated Kirsten Imani Kasai ... and this, her brand new book, proves just how good she can be: Private Pleasures By Kirsten Imani Kasai

The erotic master of RHAPSODY IN SNAKESKIN is back with another cutting-edge erotic masterpiece: PRIVATE PLEASURES!
Plunge into a gritty underworld populated by hallucinatory dancers, deceitful lovers, back-stabbing best friends and menacing doctors. An astonishing sensual adventure for the literary mind, PRIVATE PLEASURES is a compelling exploration of the sex industry's effects on the women whose labor sustain it.
Humanity’s defining characteristic is not our opposable thumbs but our voyeurism. It’s the licentious, spying urge, which prompts us to peer through parted curtains and cracked doors, eager for a glimpse of skin or sin. Peep shows were born of that vice and thrived. Peep shows are the absinthe of the sex trades—alluring, misleading and deliciously, delightfully toxic.
Joely is a peep show dancer plagued by revenge fantasies about her clients. She's desperate to feel normal and win the heart of her handsome neighbor. But when she meets Twilight, a dancer with a penchant for brutality, Joely's facade begins to crack, revealing her darker nature.
As two jealous lovers vie for Joely's attention, she must confront her shadow self, a black leather virago with a taste for blood. She hopes that a psychic surgery will cure her but it backfires, resulting in assault, murder and the breakdown of all Joely's careful constructs.

"Dipping into his erotic prose is like being doused with a bucket of icy cold water on a sticky Summer’s day. It’s a sense awakening experience, which enlivens and sweeps you away in the same narrative breath. It’s dark, it’s dangerous, it’s horny, it’s mouthwatering, it’s witty and it’s sharp. Read my lips: Read this book."- Skin Two
"To get the most out of M. Christian's haunting mix of rapture and horror, exaltation and degradation, love of language and lust for flesh, read him out loud. If you have someone to read him out loud to, someone who knows that the best porn is also art, you're both very lucky." - Clean Sheets
"Part folklore, part pornography, part horror, part brutal romance - and all erotically kick-ass. Dirty Words takes readers in a tour of 14 contorted mental interiors and labyrinthine psychic dungeons inhabiting M. Christian's mind. This is not a collection of short stories where the music swells and the camera pans to clouds passing the bedroom window on a moonlit night. Smart, hot, and vorpal-blade sharp, Dirty Words is perfect reading for those who love
their sex fantasies in-you-face and are unafraid of a little blood" - Adult Video News (AVN)

2 For Me and Me for 2: An Interview with two M. Christians

In 'celebration' of the re-release of the queer horror/thriller Me2 by Sizzler/Renaissance E Books, here's a fun little interview one "M. Christian" did with another "M. Christian" about the book:

2 For Me and Me for 2:
An Interview with two M. Christians

Tape Begins

M.Christian 1: So I’ve finally apprehended you, foul fiend!

M.Christian 2: What the hell are you talking about? I caught you!

MC1: There’s no denying it: you’re the wretched scoundrel who’s been impersonating me, writing books under my name, soiling my creative reputation, attempting to profit by using my name –

MC2: Hold it right there, buddy! I don’t know what kind of twisted game you’re playing but you’re the one who’s been copying me, ripping off my name –

MC1: Liar! J'accuse! It is you who have stolen my identity, my very existence, and sought to supplant me as the rightful owner to the life of ‘M.Christian!’

MC2: You’re freaking nuts!

MC1: No, sir, it is you who is the clearly unbalanced one. To even attempt such a reckless and audacious act reveals a tentative grasp of reality.

MC2: Look, you clearly need some kind of professional help: hardcore therapy, some good meds, maybe even a straight jacket. What I don’t get is why you even bothered to try and steal my name. It’s not like I’m a damned Stephen King or anything. I’m not worth very much. Hell, it’s not like you really needed to be me anyway. You’re a crook, okay, but you’re still a damned good writer. I really hate to say it but Me2 is a really good read. If you just hadn’t been so damned stupid to try and take my name away from me, you might have been able to make a real one for yourself.

MC1: Devil! Miscreant! How contemptible you are. How arrogant! Not only do you attempt the theft of my existence but now you play the game of mock sincerity and even praise your own impersonation. Well, sir, I think that the evidence of your crime is written on the very pages you try to pass off as my work. Agreed, the novel Me2 is the work of a writer with no small amount of talent but it is clearly not a subject matter that I, the true and real M.Christian, would ever create. For example, just look at the following text featured on the back of the current edition: “He looks just like you. He acts exactly like you. He takes away your job. He steals your friends. He seduces your lover. Every day he becomes more and more like you, pushing you out of your life, taking away what was yours … until there’s nothing left. Where did he come from? Robot? Alien? Clone? Doppelganger? Evil twin? Long lost brother? A shocking new view of queer identity, Me2 is a groundbreaking and wildly twisted novel that you’ll remember for a long time – no matter who you are, or who you think you may be.” That, sir, is not a book that the real M.Christian would ever deem to write.

MC2: Forget the pills and straight jacket, it’s a nice rubber-walled accommodation for you, buddy: you’re the one who wrote the damned book. But one thing you’re right about, Me2 sure isn’t something I would write. Sure it’s got a real interesting theme and all: existence, identity, the horror of losing who you are, of not only being replaced by a copy but even one who does a better damned job of living your life than you ever could. Yeah, it’s got an interesting and very readable style, even though it’s dealing with a lot of weird crap, but it sure isn’t something I would do.

MC1: Again you distort the truth of the situation. Curse you, impostor! I have worked for too many years to build up what I can only hope is a moderately respected literary career only to have to try to co-opt all my hard-won successes for your nefarious ends. I will fight you with every fiber of my being, thief! I am the one and the only M.Christian. I am the author of more than 400 short stories in such anthologies as Best American Erotica, Best Gay Erotica, Best Lesbian Erotica, and many, many other fine publications. Only I am the editor of 20 anthologies such as The Burning Pen, Guilty Pleasures, The Mammoth Book of Future Cops, The Mammoth Book of Tales of the Road (both Mammoth books with Maxim Jakubowksi), and Confessions, Garden of the Perverse, and Amazons (with Sage Vivant). I, and I alone, am the author of over nine collections – including Dirty Words, Speaking Parts, The Bachelor Machine, and Filthy Boys – and the novels Running Dry, The Very Bloody Marys, Brushes, and Finger's Breadth. You, sir, can never take that away from me!

MC2: God, you are a complete and total fruitloop, aren’t you? You’d have to be to sit there and rattle off my writing credits as yours. I tell ya if you weren’t such a 98-pound weakling, I’d be tempted to drive you into the ground like a tent peg. But since you are, I’m just going to keep reminding myself that you’re a little loose, brain-wise, and try not to take you too seriously. For God’s sake you don’t need to pretend to be me to get your name out there. Like I said, Me2 is a damned good book. Take the way you knock out all the usual explanations -- robot, alien, clone, doppelganger, evil twin, long lost brother – and offer up a totally unique explanation, and then totally screw with the idea of who the main character is. I tell you, I hate to say this, but it was quite brilliant. And then there’s the way you use humor as well as horror … you don’t need to pose as me: you could be right up there with me (if I’m even ‘up there’ to begin with) with a little work.

MC1: Is there no end to your infamy? Is there no depth to your depravity? How contemptible you are to stand there and claim to be the one, true, original M. Christian and then to compliment yourself for the work that you, yourself, created! The audacity! Beyond the insult to my person, however, is the loathing I feel for you for what you have done, in my name, to people I thought I could claim to be friends, associates .. people I respected. How did you manage to deceive so many people that you were myself? People who were not familiar with me or my work I could understand but to trick such luminaries as Felice Picano and Michael Thomas Ford … that is beyond fraud, bordering on evil criminality. Just look at what you tricked them into writing about this book you have written under my name. Lisabet Sarai, of Incognito and Fire fame says: “Absolutely brilliant. M. Christian explores the meaning of identity and humanity in a generic world where literally everything can be manufactured -- a world frighteningly like our own.” Art & Sex in Greenwich Village author Felice Picano writes: “Me2 is a unique and always entertaining fable-novel about what exactly identity may entail and how we may or may not decide whether it's worth the price of keeping it.” Mari Adkins contributing editor, Apex Science Fiction and Horror Digest, says “M. Christian has a delightful, marvelously twisted way with words which cause his narratives to crawl beneath your skin and fester there, making you go back for more. He writes with a strong, unique voice which is not only entertaining but also makes you think, makes you ponder the improbable. You'll think you've read this delicious, fast-paced story, but did you? Or was it you?” And Full Circle and Changing Tides author Michael Thomas Ford writes "With delicious slyness, M. Christian creates a world in which the familiar becomes sinister and the comfort of daily routine is replaced by a growing sense of dread. His modern parable lays bare the all-too-real dangers inherent in the sacrifice of individuality in the pursuit of cultural homogenization.” I say again, and with heightened furor: how dare you, sir!

MC2: Okay, that’s it. I’ve had enough of you … you … damned copycat.

MC1: Is this it then? Are you so cowardly you resort to brute antagonism, simple violence?

MC2: You damned well started this – but I’m gonna finish it.

MC1: Unhand me, I say! I warn you, Sir, I was quite the pugilist in my day. Do not force me to defend myself.

MC2: Put ‘em up, you thief!

MC1: Have at you, sir!

MC2: Crook!

MC1: Plagiarist!

MC2: Jerk!

MC1: Rogue!

MC2: Bastard!

MC1: You leave my mother out of this, reprobate!

MC2: Prick!

MC1: Degenerate!

Out Now: Enslaving Eli By Billierosie

Billierosie has proved that she can write - and, boy, can she write - hot BDSM erotica and with this, her new book she is even better: Enslaving Eli

Billierosie once again shows that she is a true master at writing hotter-than-hot BDSM erotica.  Her new book, Enslaving Eli is a must for fans of the genre! When Jasmine the beautiful Dominant meets tall, hunky Eli at the dullest party in the world, Eli wants to see her again. He doesn’t understand her reluctance, they’ve had fun together and it isn’t as if he is asking her to marry him, just maybe a cup of coffee. When Jasmine tells Eli of her secret life, Eli is intrigued and gradually he is initiated into a world of BDSM, that as Jasmine’s submissive, is impossible for him to walk away from.
Jasmine tells Eli tales of a secret, exclusive organisation, The Coterie. The Coterie is centuries old. Its members are Dominant women; their ethos in life is total submission of the male. Eli endures humiliation, depravity and absolute control, at the hands of Mistress Jasmine. But Eli and Jasmine are more than Mistress and slave, they have fallen in love. When Mistress Jasmine is killed in a road traffic accident, Eli is devastated. Officially, Eli now belongs to The Coterie. He is property. He is told that he is to be sold to another Mistress. Eli has other ideas.  The story explores a much under discussed orientation; that of the male submissive. Relinquishing control, is not seen as a masculine way to go about things. But in relinquishing control, Eli's life is fulfilled.

Out Now: Uncharted Territory By Jim Lyon

Here's a pleasant (and hot)  for fans of femdomme erotica, a brand new book by Jim Lyon: Uncharted Territory

An intriguing new femme domme romance and a treat for fans of brilliantly written erotica!   Basically this is a story of kismet in a femdom setting. Through different paths two people discover their affinity for BDSM and set out to find a compatible partner. Uncharted Territory follows the journey of Samantha and Matt from the twists of fate that enable them to acknowledge their true sexual nature through their star crossed romance. Since this is a work of erotica, it features a variety of sexual scenarios, mostly with D/s components. It also includes realistic characters and a smattering of humor.
